Todd Marcus is a jazz clarinetist and composer known for his distinctive blend of New Orleans jazz traditions with influences from Middle Eastern music, particularly maqam. His work frequently incorporates original compositions rooted in both cultures, utilizing microtonal scales and improvisation alongside established jazz forms. He often performs with his ensemble, Todd Marcus & Arabic Jazz Quartet, exploring the common ground between these seemingly disparate musical worlds.

Jacob’s Pillow is a National Historic Landmark in Becket, Massachusetts, dedicated to dance. Founded in 1931 by Ted Shawn, it began as a school for men interested in dance and quickly evolved into a leading international dance festival and center for training. The campus comprises a variety of performance spaces including the historic Ted Shawn Theatre (an open-air theatre), the Doris Duke Theatre, and studio spaces. Throughout its history, Jacob’s Pillow has premiered works by numerous celebrated choreographers and hosted performances by internationally renowned dance companies representing diverse styles – ballet, contemporary, and world dance traditions.
