Little Island is a public park in Hudson River Park, located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Opened in May 2021 after years of planning and construction, the park is notable for its unique design: a structure built on 199 tulip-shaped concrete pilings that rise from the riverbed. Originally conceived as Pier 55, the project faced significant financial hurdles before being completed through private funding led by Barry Diller and Diane von Furstenberg. The park features undulating pathways, lush landscaping with over 35 species of trees and 65 species of shrubs and grasses, and an amphitheater designed to host performances like Bartlett’s concert.
