Thomas Bartlett will perform at Little Island on September 2nd, 2026. Bartlett is a pianist, composer, and record producer known for his emotionally resonant and often improvisational musical style. He has collaborated with numerous acclaimed artists including Sufjan Stevens, The National, and Rhye, and has also released several solo albums under his own name and as Doveman.

Little Island is a public park in Hudson River Park located in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood. Opened in May 2021, the park is notable for its unique architectural design featuring 132 tulip-shaped concrete piles supporting a naturally landscaped public space. Designed by Heatherwick Studio, the structure was initially conceived as Pier 55, a proposed performing arts center. While it does host performances, Little Island functions primarily as a free public park offering walking paths, lawns, performance spaces and views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline. The project faced significant financial hurdles during its development but ultimately became a prominent addition to the city’s waterfront park system.
