TBC is scheduled to perform at Symphony Hall, Birmingham on December 23rd, 2026. The ensemble is recognised for its innovative approach to contemporary classical music, frequently incorporating elements of minimalist composition and electronic soundscapes within traditionally orchestral frameworks. Their work often explores themes of spatial awareness and the interplay between acoustic and digital instrumentation.

Symphony Hall opened in September 1991 and is widely regarded as one of the finest concert halls in the United Kingdom, and indeed the world, due to its exceptional acoustics. Designed by Renton Eggleston Preddy Limited, the hall was specifically engineered to provide an optimal listening experience, with a vineyard-style seating arrangement ensuring proximity to the performers for all audience members.

The hall’s acoustics stem from a combination of factors including its ‘floating’ platform construction – isolating it from external vibrations – and the careful selection of materials used throughout its build. Symphony Hall regularly hosts leading orchestras, chamber ensembles and soloists from across the globe, alongside a diverse programme encompassing jazz, rock, pop and other genres. It serves as the home of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
