The SWR Big Band will perform at Theater am Marientor in Duisburg, Germany on April 17, 2027. The SWR Big Band is a German big band radio orchestra, renowned for its diverse repertoire spanning traditional big band swing, modern jazz compositions, and collaborations across various genres including funk, pop, and classical music. Established in 1949 as the Südwestfunk (SWF) orchestra, it evolved through mergers to become part of the Südwestrundfunk (SWR) network. The band consistently features arrangements by leading composers and often performs with internationally acclaimed guest soloists.

Theater am Marientor is a municipal theatre in Duisburg, originally opened in 1902 as the Stadttheater. Heavily damaged during World War II, it was rebuilt and reopened in 1950 with a focus on variety and operetta performances. Throughout its history, it has hosted a wide range of productions including plays, musicals, concerts and dance performances. The theatre underwent extensive renovations between 2018-2021 to modernize its facilities while preserving its historical architectural features.
