The SWR Big Band will perform at the Großer Saal within Laeiszhalle, Hamburg on June 12, 2027. The SWR Big Band is a German big band radio orchestra, renowned for its diverse repertoire encompassing jazz standards, contemporary compositions, and collaborative projects with internationally acclaimed artists. Historically rooted in post-war German broadcasting, the band maintains a commitment to both preserving big band tradition and exploring innovative musical territories. Laeiszhalle (Großer Saal) is Hamburg’s primary concert hall and a significant landmark in the city’s cultural landscape. Opened in 1908, it is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics and elegant architecture influenced by the New Renaissance style. The hall underwent extensive renovations completed in 2017, modernizing technical infrastructure while preserving its historical character. It has hosted performances by numerous distinguished orchestras and soloists throughout its history and remains a central venue for classical music, as well as jazz and other genres. The Großer Saal's capacity is approximately 2,182 seats.
