Named after the 19th-century Swedish composer Franz Berwald, the hall serves as the primary base for the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir. The building’s architecture is characterized by its functional design and integration within Stockholm’s cityscape; it isn't known for ornate decoration but rather a focus on sonic excellence. It underwent a significant renovation completed in 2014 to further refine its acoustic properties and improve facilities.
