The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra will perform at Berwaldhallen in Stockholm on August 21, 2026. Berwaldhallen, inaugurated in 1979, is the dedicated concert hall of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Choir. Designed by architect Erik Kråkström, its acoustics were meticulously crafted in collaboration with acoustician Sven-Olof Asplund, prioritizing natural reverberation and clarity specifically suited to orchestral performance and radio broadcasting – reflecting its origins as a broadcasting studio. The hall’s design intentionally avoids traditional shoebox shapes, opting instead for a vineyard-style layout where the audience surrounds the orchestra on three sides. This configuration aims to create a more intimate connection between performers and listeners while maintaining excellent sonic qualities. It regularly hosts recordings for national and international broadcast.
