Sullivan Fortner will perform at USF Verfet in Bergen, Norway on November 13, 2026. Fortner is a contemporary jazz pianist and composer known for his deeply emotive playing, blending elements of post-bop, gospel, and classical music. His work frequently features intricate harmonic structures and improvisational explorations rooted in a strong melodic sensibility. He has released several critically acclaimed albums as a leader and has collaborated with artists such as Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah and Irvin Mayfield.

USF Verfet is a cultural hub housed within a former factory building – the old Union of Free Farmers (Union av Samvirkelag) – located in the Solheim neighborhood of Bergen. Originally constructed in 1952 to serve as a distribution center for cooperative societies, the building underwent extensive renovation in the late 1990s to transform it into a multi-purpose venue. Today, it encompasses concert halls, rehearsal spaces, workshops, and artist studios. It’s known for its industrial aesthetic combined with modern facilities and hosts a diverse range of events including concerts spanning multiple genres, theatre performances, film screenings and visual arts exhibitions.
