Steven Bernstein is a New York-based musician known for his work as a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and bandleader. Levon Helm Studios, located in Woodstock, New York, was established by the late Levon Helm, drummer and vocalist for The Band. Originally Barn A on Helm’s property, it was converted into a professional recording studio in the late 1990s. The studio became renowned for its warm acoustic environment and intimate setting. Following Helm’s passing in 2012, his daughter Anna Helm and partner Byron Isaacs have continued to operate the studio, maintaining its legacy as a hub for musicians seeking a creative and collaborative space. It continues to host recording sessions and live performances focusing on Americana, roots music and related genres; reflecting Helm’s own musical interests.
