Rachael & Vilray perform a style often described as vintage American songbook revival, drawing heavily from jazz, country, and Tin Pan Alley traditions of the 1920s-1960s. Their arrangements feature close vocal harmonies, upright bass, and a generally intimate, retro aesthetic. The duo consists of Rachael Price and Vilray Mendes, both experienced musicians with backgrounds in various ensembles before forming this collaborative project.

Levon Helm Studios is located in Woodstock, New York and operates as both a recording facility and performance space. It was founded by Levon Helm, the drummer and vocalist for The Band, who resided in Woodstock for much of his life. Originally his home and garage, it was transformed into a professional studio where Helm recorded several of his own albums, including the Grammy-winning *Electric Dirt*.

Following Helm’s passing in 2012, the studio continued operation under the direction of his family. It maintains a focus on live-room recording and has become known for its warm acoustics and connection to musical history. The space frequently hosts performances emphasizing Americana, roots music, and singer-songwriter styles – genres aligning with Rachael & Vilray’s musical approach.
