Steven Bernstein will perform at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York on November 7, 2026. Bernstein is a trumpeter, composer, and arranger known for his eclectic musical style. Often described as blending jazz, klezmer, blues, and rock & roll influences, his work frequently incorporates historical musical references and a playful approach to genre boundaries. He has led several groups including the Hot 97 Orkestra and Spanish Fly, and has collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, and Henry Rollins.

Levon Helm Studios is located on the grounds of Levon Helm’s former home and studio in Woodstock. Helm was best known as the drummer and vocalist for The Band, a highly influential rock group formed in the 1960s. Following Helm’s passing in 2012, the property was transformed into a fully functional recording studio and performance space dedicated to continuing his legacy of supporting Americana, roots, and folk music. The studio maintains a deliberately intimate atmosphere – it was originally built as a barn-style structure – intended to foster collaboration and artistic expression. It regularly hosts concerts featuring established and emerging artists within those genres.
