Steven Bernstein is a New York-based musician known for his work as a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and bandleader. Levon Helm Studios is located in Woodstock, New York and was established by the late Levon Helm, drummer and vocalist for The Band. Originally Barn B on Helm’s property, it was converted into a professional recording studio in the late 1990s. The studio became renowned for its warm acoustics and intimate atmosphere, fostering a collaborative environment favored by musicians seeking a more organic sound. Following Helm’s passing in 2012, the studio continued to operate under the direction of his family. It maintains a focus on live recording techniques and serves as both a recording facility and a performance space dedicated to preserving Helm’s musical legacy and supporting contemporary artists across various genres.
