Steven Bernstein is a New York-based multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and composer known for his work spanning diverse genres including jazz, blues, klezmer, and rock. His musical approach frequently involves reinterpreting historical American music through a contemporary lens, often utilizing unusual instrumentation and a playful, experimental spirit. He’s led ensembles like the Hot 97 Orchestra and Spanish Fly, and has collaborated with artists such as Lou Reed, Levon Helm, and John Zorn.

The August 1st, 2026 concert will take place at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York. These studios were established by the late Levon Helm, drummer and vocalist for The Band. Originally Barn B on Helm’s property, it was converted into a professional recording studio in the late 1990s following a period of financial hardship for Helm.

The studio became renowned not only for its warm acoustic environment – largely due to its wooden construction – but also for its intimate atmosphere fostered by Helm's welcoming presence.
