Steve Hackman is a composer, arranger, producer, and conductor known for deconstructing popular music and reimagining it with orchestral arrangements. His work frequently blends classical instrumentation with elements of pop, rock, and hip-hop, often featuring live bands alongside a full orchestra. He’s gained recognition for projects that have involved artists like Hozier and The Civil Wars, presenting familiar songs in entirely new contexts.

Ravinia Pavilion, located in Highland Park, Illinois, is North America’s oldest music festival. Founded in 1904 as a summer home for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, it maintains a strong relationship with the CSO which performs there regularly. The venue itself is unique; an open-air pavilion set within a naturally wooded 36-acre park. Beyond classical performances, Ravinia hosts a diverse range of artists spanning jazz, blues, pop and world music. The grounds are designed to encourage lawn seating alongside reserved spaces under the pavilion roof. Ravinia is a National Historic Landmark and operates as a non-profit organization dedicated to accessible arts programming.
