Special Consensus will perform at Saint James Lutheran Church in Greeneville, Tennessee on March 20, 2027. The band is recognized for its progressive bluegrass music, characterized by intricate arrangements, strong vocal harmonies, and instrumental proficiency. Formed in 1975, Special Consensus has consistently ranked among the top bluegrass groups, known for both traditional repertoire and original compositions. They’ve received numerous industry awards including six International Bluegrass Music Association awards.

Saint James Lutheran Church has served the Greeneville community since 1908. Originally established as a mission church to serve German-speaking immigrants in the area, the congregation initially met in private homes before constructing its first building on College Street. The current building, located on Cutrer Street, was completed in 1964 following a fire that destroyed the previous structure. The church is known for its active involvement in local outreach programs and its traditional Lutheran worship services. Its sanctuary frequently hosts community events alongside religious observances, showcasing its role as a cultural hub within Greeneville. The architecture features stained-glass windows and a classic Gothic Revival style typical of early 20th-century church construction.
