The band is a highly regarded bluegrass ensemble known for their consistently innovative and polished sound. Formed in 1975, Special Consensus blends traditional bluegrass instrumentation with influences from other genres, featuring intricate arrangements and strong vocal harmonies. Throughout their career, they have received numerous awards including six International Bluegrass Music Association awards. Current members include Greg Cahill on mandolin, Dan Eubanks on banjo, Michael Povey on bass, and Justin Carbone on guitar.
