Sol Gabetta, an internationally acclaimed Argentinian cellist, will perform at the Haus für Mozart in Salzburg on August 26, 2026. Gabetta is recognized for her deeply expressive and virtuosic interpretations of both standard cello repertoire and lesser-known works. Her performances are often noted for their emotional intensity and technical brilliance, encompassing a broad range from Baroque to contemporary compositions. The Haus für Mozart holds significant cultural importance in Salzburg as a dedicated venue for chamber music and a center for exploring the legacy of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Originally built as the Tanzmeisterhaus (Dance Master’s House) in 1760, it is believed that Mozart himself resided here with his family from 1773 to 1787 – making it his longest period of residence within Salzburg city limits.

Restored and reopened in 2006, the building now functions as a concert hall and museum dedicated to Mozart’s life and work. Its intimate setting allows for a close connection between performers and audience, fostering an atmosphere conducive to nuanced musical experiences.
