Experience Evgeny Kissin live on August 5th
Evgeny Kissin will perform at the Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg, Austria on August 5, 2026. Kissin is internationally renowned for his intensely passionate and technically brilliant piano playing. His repertoire spans a wide range, from Romantic composers like Rachmaninoff and Chopin – with whom he is particularly associated – to classical masters such as Beethoven and Mozart, as well as 20th and 21st-century works. He is known for his deeply individual interpretations and powerful stage presence.
The Großes Festspielhaus, translating to “Great Festival House,” is a prominent concert hall within the Salzburg Festival complex. Completed in 1960, it was designed by architect Clemens Holzmeister and serves as a primary venue for classical music performances during the annual Salzburg Festival, though it hosts events year-round. The hall is celebrated for its excellent acoustics and relatively intimate atmosphere despite its capacity of approximately 2,180 seats. Its design incorporates elements of both traditional theatre architecture and modern functionality. The building replaced a previous structure destroyed during World War II and quickly became central to Salzburg’s musical life, hosting performances by many of the world’s leading musicians since its opening.
