Shake Stew is scheduled to perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on December 12, 2026. The ensemble is known for its distinctive blend of jazz, funk, and improvisational rock elements, often incorporating extended instrumental passages and complex rhythmic structures. Their compositions frequently draw inspiration from both traditional American musical forms and contemporary electronic soundscapes. Shake Stew has cultivated a reputation for dynamic live performances and a collaborative approach to music-making since forming in the early 2000s.

The Elbphilharmonie itself is a concert hall in the HafenCity district of Hamburg. Construction began in 2007 and was completed in 2017, experiencing significant delays and cost overruns during its development. Built atop an existing warehouse structure (the Kaispeicher A), the Elbphilharmonie features a striking glass facade designed by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. It houses a major concert hall with seating for approximately 2,100 people, as well as a smaller recital hall and numerous residential apartments. The building’s acoustic design was overseen by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming to deliver exceptional sound quality within its unique architectural framework.
