Experience Seong-Jin Cho live on October 10th
Seong-Jin Cho will perform a solo recital at Konserthuset Stockholm on October 10, 2026. Cho is a South Korean classical pianist who gained international recognition after winning the First Prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition. His playing is often described as possessing a remarkable clarity, poetic sensitivity, and technical control, with a particular affinity for the Romantic repertoire – notably Chopin – but encompassing a broad range of composers including Debussy, Rachmaninoff and Beethoven. He is known for his nuanced interpretations and restrained emotional expression, prioritizing musical architecture and textural detail.
Konserthuset Stockholm opened in 1926 and is considered one of Sweden’s premier concert halls, renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Designed by Ivar Tengbom, the hall was built specifically to provide an optimal environment for orchestral music; its design incorporated principles of shoe-box shaped halls favoured for their sound quality. It is home to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and hosts a diverse program of classical music performances throughout the year. The building itself represents a significant example of Swedish functionalism blended with neoclassical elements, and has undergone several renovations to maintain its acoustic standards and facilities while preserving its architectural heritage.
