Experience Samara Joy live on September 8th
Samara Joy will perform at Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco on September 8, 2026. Joy is a contemporary jazz vocalist known for her interpretations of classic jazz standards and original compositions. Her style draws heavily from the vocal traditions of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Billie Holiday, incorporating scat singing, rich tone, and emotive phrasing. She gained prominence after winning the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for *Linger Awhile*, and has been lauded for introducing jazz to a new generation of listeners.
Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall, often simply called Davies Hall, opened in 1980 as the home of the San Francisco Symphony. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the hall is renowned for its acoustics, specifically its vineyard-style seating arrangement which places the audience close to the performers. The hall seats approximately 2,707 people and has hosted a wide range of performances beyond orchestral music including opera, ballet, pop concerts and lectures. It underwent significant renovations completed in 2013 to enhance both audience experience and performance capabilities while maintaining its original acoustic integrity.
