Experience Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden live on November 7th
Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden is renowned as one of the world’s oldest and most distinguished orchestras, with a musical tradition deeply rooted in the German Romantic period. While capable of performing works across all eras, the orchestra historically possesses a particular affinity for the composers Richard Strauss, Richard Wagner, and Carl Maria von Weber, fostered through long-standing relationships and premieres of their works. Its sound is often described as rich, warm, and possessing a distinctive vibrato.
The concert on November 7th, 2026 will take place at the Semperoper, Dresden’s iconic opera house. Originally constructed in 1841 by architect Gottfried Semper, it was destroyed by fire twice – once in 1869 and again during World War II. The current building is a reconstruction completed in 1985, faithfully recreating Semper’s original design.
The Semperoper is celebrated not only for its architectural beauty – a blend of Baroque and Renaissance Revival styles – but also for its exceptional acoustics. It has been a central location for operatic and orchestral performances for over 180 years, hosting numerous world premieres and featuring performances by leading artists.
