Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra is recognized for its broad repertoire spanning from the classical and romantic periods through to contemporary works, with a particular emphasis on Swedish composers. Completed in 1929, Konserthuset was designed by architect Ivar Tengbom and is renowned for its exceptional acoustics. The building’s design incorporates elements of Nordic Classicism and features significant artwork, including sculptures and paintings by prominent Swedish artists.

Konserthuset is the primary performance space for the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and hosts a wide range of musical events throughout the year. It’s also famously the location of the annual Nobel Prize award ceremonies, where laureates are presented with their awards in the venue's Blue Hall following performances by the orchestra. The hall’s acoustics are largely attributed to its shoe-box shape and carefully selected materials chosen to enhance sound projection and clarity.
