Rebekka Bakken, a Norwegian singer-songwriter known for her distinctive vocal style and genre-bending compositions, will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on December 16, 2026. Her music often blends elements of jazz, pop, and experimental soundscapes, frequently incorporating extended vocal techniques and improvisation. Bakken’s work explores themes of identity, nature, and human connection, and she has released several critically acclaimed albums throughout her career.

The Elbphilharmonie itself is a landmark concert hall situated in Hamburg’s HafenCity district. Construction began in 2007 and was completed in 2017, facing significant delays and cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – the Elbphilharmonie’s striking glass structure and wave-like roof have become iconic features of the Hamburg skyline.

The hall is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, designed by Yasuhisa Toyota. It houses the Grand Hall (Elbphilharmonie Hall), seating approximately 2,100 people, as well as a smaller Recital Hall.
