Ravi Coltrane, son of jazz saxophone icons John and Alice Coltrane, will perform at Kulturraffinerie K714 in Monheim am Rhein, Germany on March 7, 2027. His musical style is deeply rooted in post-bop and contemporary jazz, often characterized by a searching, intensely lyrical tenor saxophone sound. While clearly influenced by his parents’ pioneering work, Coltrane has forged his own path, incorporating elements of electronic music and a broad range of harmonic textures into his compositions and improvisations. He frequently leads ensembles featuring both established and emerging musicians.

Kulturraffinerie K714 is a cultural center housed within a former sugar refinery ("Raffinerie" translates to refinery) in Monheim am Rhein. Established in 1986, the venue has become a significant regional hub for diverse artistic programming including concerts, theater performances, exhibitions and workshops. The building itself reflects its industrial past; the architecture retains many original features of the former refinery alongside modern additions designed to accommodate various artistic needs.
