Ravi Coltrane, son of jazz saxophone legend John Coltrane and pianist Alice Coltrane, will perform at Bijlokesite in Ghent, Belgium on July 2nd, 2026. His musical style is deeply rooted in post-bop and hard bop traditions, yet incorporates elements of avant-garde jazz, often characterized by intensely lyrical saxophone playing and sophisticated harmonic exploration. Coltrane’s work frequently demonstrates a balance between honoring his parents' legacy and forging his own distinctive voice within the jazz idiom, incorporating influences from contemporary music as well.

Bijlokesite is a significant cultural complex in Ghent, originally established as a medieval hospital – the Sint-Jozefs-Bijklooster (St. Joseph’s Annex Monastery). Over time, the site transitioned from its medical function to become a hub for arts and culture. Today, it houses a concert hall, a music academy (Conservatorium), and various artistic organizations.
