Lizz Wright is an American singer, songwriter, and musician whose work blends elements of jazz, blues, gospel, and soul. Often characterized by her rich, emotive vocals and interpretive approach to songwriting – encompassing both original compositions and carefully selected covers – Wright’s music explores themes of love, loss, and spirituality. She gained recognition after winning the 2003 Grand Prize in the NPR Music Tiny Desk Contest.

The concert will take place at Stadsschouwburg Sint-Niklaas, a prominent cultural venue in the city of Sint-Niklaas, Belgium. Originally constructed in 1930 in an Art Deco style designed by architect Leon Van Dijck, the Stadsschouwburg functions as a multi-purpose theatre and concert hall. It underwent significant renovations and expansions in the late 1990s to modernize its facilities while preserving its historical architectural features.

The Stadsschouwburg hosts a diverse program including theatre productions, dance performances, concerts spanning various genres, and other cultural events. It is considered a key location for artistic expression within the region of East Flanders and plays an important role in the cultural life of Sint-Niklaas.
