Rachael & Vilray is the collaborative project of Rachael Price, formerly of Lake Street Dive, and guitarist Vilray (born Dominic Biltonen). Formed in 2019, the duo crafts meticulously arranged songs rooted in mid-20th century American popular music – specifically jazz, country, and Tin Pan Alley songwriting. Their sound evokes the golden age of vocal harmony groups and sophisticated arrangements reminiscent of artists like Doris Day and Nat King Cole.

Price’s acclaimed vocal delivery is central to their aesthetic, complemented by Vilray’s intricate guitar work and arrangements which often feature horns and strings. They released their self-titled debut album in 2021 to widespread critical praise, earning features in *NPR Music*, *The New York Times*, and *DownBeat*.

Their second album, *I Love a Love Song*, followed in 2023, continuing their exploration of classic song structures with a contemporary sensibility. The album garnered further acclaim for its polished production and emotional depth. Rachael & Vilray have toured extensively across the United States, building a dedicated following through their captivating live performances and dedication to preserving—and subtly reimagining—a beloved musical tradition.
