Protomartyr, the Detroit-based post-punk band, will be performing at Electric Brixton in London on February 16, 2027. The group is known for its stark, minimalist sound characterized by Joe Casey’s distinctive, spoken-word vocal delivery over driving basslines, angular guitar work, and often bleak lyrical themes exploring themes of urban decay, alienation and societal anxieties. Their music draws comparisons to bands like Joy Division and Wire, yet maintains a uniquely modern sensibility. Formed in 2010, Protomartyr has released several critically acclaimed albums including *The Agent Intellect* and *Relatives*.

Electric Brixton is a mid-sized music venue located in Brixton, South London. Originally opening as a cinema in 1913 – initially named the Tatler Cinema – it underwent several transformations before becoming a bingo hall. It was re-established as a live music venue in 1999 and has since hosted a diverse range of artists across various genres. The space retains some of its art deco features from its cinema days, contributing to its distinct atmosphere.
