Experience Protomartyr live on October 24th
Protomartyr, a post-punk band originating from Detroit, Michigan, will be performing at August Hall in San Francisco on October 24, 2026. Their music is generally characterized by its stark, minimalist arrangements, often featuring driving basslines, angular guitar work, and Joe Casey’s distinctive, spoken-word-influenced vocals. Lyrically, Protomartyr frequently explores themes of urban decay, alienation, and societal anxieties. The band has released several critically acclaimed albums since forming in 2010, gaining a reputation for intense and compelling live performances.
August Hall opened in 2018 following extensive renovations to a historic venue originally constructed in 1914 as a social hall for local machinists. Located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, it’s known for its standing-room-only general admission format and relatively intimate capacity of approximately 850 people. The space retains some of its original architectural features while incorporating modern sound and lighting systems. It has quickly become a popular venue for both established and emerging artists across various genres including indie rock, alternative, and electronic music.
