Pixels Ensemble will perform at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on February 8, 2027. The ensemble is recognized for its innovative approach to contemporary classical music, frequently incorporating electronic elements and visual components into their performances. Their compositions often explore the intersection of acoustic instrumentation and digital soundscapes, drawing influences from minimalist composers as well as ambient and experimental electronic music. Liverpool Philharmonic Hall opened in 1849 as a subscription hall for orchestral concerts, initially known as the Liverpool Grand Concert Hall. It underwent significant renovations in the early 20th century, including work led by architect Walter Thomas in 1901 which substantially altered its appearance and acoustics. The hall has a long history of hosting prominent musicians and orchestras, becoming a central venue for musical performance in the North West of England. It is currently home to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and hosts a diverse range of events beyond classical music, including rock, pop, comedy and film screenings. The building is Grade II listed, recognizing its architectural and historical importance.
