Peter Evans, a trumpeter recognized for his highly improvisational and often intensely energetic approach to free jazz and avant-garde music, will perform at Alter Schlachthof in Eupen, Belgium on September 4th, 2026. Evans’s work frequently incorporates extended techniques, exploring the sonic possibilities of the trumpet beyond conventional playing methods. He is known for a distinctive sound characterized by rapid-fire phrasing, multiphonics, and a willingness to push the boundaries of harmonic and rhythmic structures. Alter Schlachthof is a cultural center housed within a former slaughterhouse building in Eupen. Established in 1986, it functions as a venue for diverse artistic disciplines including music, theatre, dance, performance art and visual arts. The space maintains much of its original industrial architecture, contributing to its unique atmosphere. It's known for hosting both established and emerging artists with a focus on independent and experimental productions.
