Chief Adjuah, also known as Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, will perform at the Open-Air Theater Valkenburg in Valkenburg, Netherlands on August 14, 2026. Adjuah is a contemporary jazz trumpeter and composer recognized for his “Stretch Music” concept, which blends elements of jazz with West African rhythms, electronic music, and hip-hop influences. The Open-Air Theater Valkenburg is a unique venue built into the side of a marlstone quarry in the Limburg province of the Netherlands. Originally constructed in 1937 as a venue for Limburg Festivals, it has a long history of hosting performances ranging from opera and operetta to musical theatre, concerts, and ballet. The natural acoustics of the quarry walls contribute to the venue’s distinctive atmosphere. The theater underwent significant renovations in the early 2000s to improve facilities while preserving its historical character and intimate setting.
