Experience Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería live on August 23rd
Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería is recognized for its consistently high performance standards and broad repertoire, encompassing both standard orchestral works and a strong commitment to contemporary Mexican and international composers. Founded in 1979, the orchestra gained prominence through its annual Festival de Música de Minería, initially held in the mining city of Real del Monte, Hidalgo, before establishing Mexico City as its primary base. The ensemble is known for featuring both established soloists and emerging talents.
The concert will take place at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, a landmark cultural venue in Mexico City. Completed in 1934 after decades of planning and construction, the Palacio represents a fusion of Art Nouveau and Art Deco architectural styles. It was envisioned as a celebration of Mexican art and culture during the post-revolutionary period. The building’s exterior features sculptures by prominent Mexican artists, while its interior houses murals by Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Rufino Tamayo, and others – key figures in the Mexican Muralism movement.
