Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana (OSI) will perform at Lugano Arte e Cultura on February 18, 2027. The OSI is recognized for its versatile repertoire, encompassing works from the classical and romantic periods alongside contemporary compositions. The orchestra frequently commissions new pieces and is known for a commitment to both established masterpieces and innovative musical exploration, often focusing on Swiss composers.

Lugano Arte e Cultura (LAC) is a cultural center inaugurated in 2017, designed by Swiss architects Livio Vacchini and Paolo Fumagalli. It functions as a multi-disciplinary venue hosting theatre, dance, music, and visual arts. The building itself is notable for its distinctive architectural form – a luminous cube seemingly floating above Lake Lugano – and its integration of art within its structure; it houses a permanent collection of artworks alongside performance spaces. LAC aims to be a central hub for artistic expression and cultural engagement within the Ticino region and beyond, offering a diverse program of events throughout the year. It replaced the former Teatro Sociale as Lugano’s main performance venue.
