Minju Kim, a South Korean pianist recognized for her interpretations of Romantic and contemporary classical repertoire, will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on September 20, 2026. Her playing is often described as possessing both technical brilliance and a deeply expressive quality, frequently focusing on composers like Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Debussy alongside modern works. She has gained international acclaim following successes in major competitions including the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition.

The Elbphilharmonie itself is a concert hall in the HafenCity district of Hamburg. Its construction, plagued by delays and cost overruns, began in 2007 and concluded in 2017. Built atop an existing warehouse structure – the Kaispeicher A – the Elbphilharmonie features a distinctive glass façade designed to reflect light and the surrounding harbor.

The hall’s acoustics are considered exceptional due to the “White Skin” interior design by Yasuhisa Toyota, featuring a system of individually shaped gypsum fiber panels. It is home to the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie Orchestra and hosts a diverse range of musical performances encompassing classical music, jazz, and popular genres.
