Melvin Seals is a renowned American keyboardist and organist, best known for his extensive work with the Jerry Garcia Band. His musical style blends elements of jazz, blues, rock, funk, and gospel, characterized by soulful improvisation and a distinctive Hammond organ sound. He continues to lead his own group, Melvin Seals & JGB, performing music associated with the Jerry Garcia Band’s repertoire as well as original compositions.

Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker is the primary performance space within The Parker, a performing arts center located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Originally opening in 1967 as the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ second theater – then known as the New River Playhouse – it underwent significant renovations and was rebranded as Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker following a substantial donation from Lillian S. Wells and her late husband Stanley in 2021.

The hall is designed to accommodate a variety of performances including concerts, Broadway shows, dance recitals and other live events. It features approximately 1,400 seats and boasts modern acoustic and lighting systems intended to enhance the audience experience. The Parker itself aims to serve as a cultural hub for South Florida communities.
