Maxime Blesin, a French composer and multi-instrumentalist, will perform at the Abbey of Stavelot in Stavelot, Belgium on November 14, 2026. His work frequently incorporates piano, strings, and atmospheric textures to create evocative and cinematic pieces. He is known for composing scores for independent films and video games in addition to his solo albums.

The Abbey of Stavelot holds significant historical importance. Founded in 651 AD by Saint Remacle, it was a powerful Benedictine abbey for over fourteen centuries, playing a crucial role in the religious and political life of the region. Throughout its history, the abbey amassed a substantial collection of religious relics and manuscripts; its treasury was particularly renowned. Suppressed during the French Revolution in 1794, much of the abbey complex was subsequently dismantled.

Today, the remaining structures are recognized as a protected heritage site. The abbey church retains much of its original Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
