Experience Marmoucha Orchestra live on September 5th
Marmoucha Orchestra will perform at Amare, The Hague on September 5th, 2026. The ensemble is known for its distinctive blend of Middle Eastern musical traditions – primarily Lebanese dabke – with Western funk, jazz, and electronic elements. Their sound features energetic rhythms, prominent brass instrumentation, and often incorporates improvisation. Formed in Rotterdam in 2017, the orchestra has gained recognition for its dynamic live performances and cross-cultural musical approach.
Amare opened in 2021 and functions as a combined concert hall, theatre, and dance stage for The Hague. It is home to the Residentie Orkest (Residentie Orchestra), Nederlands Dans Theater (Netherlands Dance Theatre), and the Staatsoperette (Operetta). The building itself occupies a prominent location on Spui square, replacing the former Lucent Danstheater and Stadsschouwburg (City Theatre). Designed by architects Mecanoo, Amare’s architectural design aims to be publicly accessible and integrate with the surrounding urban landscape. Its construction was part of a larger urban renewal project for the Spui area. The venue offers multiple performance spaces catering to diverse artistic disciplines.
