40 Fingers will perform at De Doelen in Rotterdam, Netherlands on September 19, 2026. The collective, led by Dutch multi-instrumentalist Jan van Duikeren, is known for its unique blend of library music, jazz, funk, and electronic sounds – often described as “library funk” or “cinematic grooves.” Initially conceived as a project creating background music for film and television in the late 1960s, 40 Fingers evolved into a highly sought-after act renowned for its instrumental compositions and distinctive use of the Wurlitzer electric piano.

De Doelen is a prominent concert hall in Rotterdam with a significant history. Originally built in 1934 as a meeting place and performance venue for various societies (“Doelen” historically referred to guildhalls or shooting ranges), it underwent substantial renovation and expansion in the 1990s. The hall is now recognized for its excellent acoustics and hosts a diverse range of classical, jazz, and world music performances. Its main hall, the Jurriaanse Zaal, is particularly noted for chamber music and recitals while the Willem de Kooning Zaal accommodates larger ensembles.
