Lantaren Venster is a cultural center located in Rotterdam’s Kop van Zuid district, housed within a former lighthouse (the ‘Lantaren’ meaning ‘lantern’). Originally constructed in 1906 as a navigational aid for ships entering the harbor, the lighthouse was decommissioned in 1972. The building was subsequently repurposed and reopened as a cinema and cultural venue in 1988. Today, Lantaren Venster hosts a diverse program including film screenings, concerts, dance performances, and exhibitions.
