Maribou State will be performing at Forwards Bristol on August 29th, 2026. The duo, comprised of Michael Kaminsky and Justin Swan, are known for their atmospheric and emotive electronic music. Their sound blends elements of downtempo, trip-hop, and house, often incorporating live instrumentation and vocal samples to create rich, textured arrangements. They initially gained recognition with their early EPs and have since released several critically acclaimed albums, evolving their style while maintaining a focus on melodic depth and immersive soundscapes.

Forwards Bristol is a relatively new venue, opening in 2022. It occupies the site formerly known as Motion, a long-standing club within Bristol’s vibrant nightlife scene. The space has undergone significant redevelopment aiming to create a multi-purpose venue with a focus on sustainability and inclusivity. It features both indoor and outdoor areas, including a large garden space and multiple performance areas. The design incorporates eco-friendly materials and technologies intended to minimize its environmental impact. The venue aims to host a diverse range of events encompassing music, arts, and community initiatives beyond solely club nights. Its capacity is approximately 3,600 people.
