Marcus Miller will perform at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco on September 27, 2026. Miller is a highly influential bassist, composer, and producer known for his work spanning jazz, funk, fusion, and R&B. His musical style is characterized by sophisticated harmonic concepts, prominent bass lines – often utilizing slap bass techniques – and a blend of acoustic and electric instrumentation. He gained prominence as a sideman with Miles Davis during the 1980s, contributing significantly to Davis’s later electric period. Miller has also enjoyed a successful solo career, releasing numerous albums and composing scores for film and television.

The SFJAZZ Center, which opened in 2013, is a leading jazz performance venue and education center.
