Marcus Miller will perform at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco on September 26, 2026. Miller is a highly influential bassist, composer, and producer known for his versatile musical style blending jazz, funk, soul, R&B, and elements of world music. He gained prominence as a sideman with Miles Davis during the 1980s, contributing significantly to Davis’s electric period, and has since established a successful solo career releasing numerous critically acclaimed albums. His work often features complex basslines, sophisticated harmonies, and innovative arrangements incorporating both acoustic and electric instruments.

The SFJAZZ Center, which opened in 2013, is a leading jazz performance venue and center for jazz education. Located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, it was designed by Mark Cavagnero Associates and features the Robert N. Miner Auditorium – an 800-seat concert hall specifically engineered for optimal acoustics. The center also includes the Joe Henderson Lab, a smaller performance space; rehearsal rooms; offices; and educational facilities.
