The Marmorsaal (Marble Hall) at Stift St. Florian is a historically significant venue located within the St. Florian monastery, a former Augustinian monastery founded in the 8th century. The hall itself was constructed in the mid-18th century, between 1738 and 1742, designed by Johann Baptist Erhard and completed by Jakob Prandtauer. It’s renowned for its exceptional acoustics and opulent Baroque design featuring marble paneling – hence the name – intricate stucco work, and frescoes depicting scenes from the life of Saint Florian, the patron saint of firefighters.
