Seong-Jin Cho, the South Korean classical pianist who rose to international prominence after winning the 2015 International Chopin Competition, will perform at Brucknerhaus Linz on April 12, 2027. Cho is recognized for his poetic and nuanced interpretations, characterized by a refined touch, clarity of articulation, and a deep emotional connection to the music. While capable across a broad repertoire, he is particularly celebrated for his performances of Chopin and Debussy. His playing often emphasizes lyrical phrasing and subtle dynamic control.

Brucknerhaus Linz opened in 1974 and is a significant concert hall in Austria, renowned for its acoustics. Designed by architect Johannes Felsinger, it’s named after composer Anton Bruckner, who was born near Linz. The hall serves as the home base for the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and hosts a diverse program of classical music performances, including orchestral concerts, chamber music recitals, and solo piano evenings. Its main hall has a capacity of approximately 1,300 seats and features a distinctive concrete structure intended to optimize sound quality. The building also incorporates exhibition spaces dedicated to Anton Bruckner’s life and work.
