Magdalena Kožená is a Czech mezzo-soprano internationally recognized for her interpretations of Baroque and Classical repertoire, as well as 20th and 21st-century works. She frequently collaborates with leading orchestras and conductors, exploring both operatic and concert works.

The Salle des Combins serves as the primary concert hall for the Verbier Festival, held annually in the Swiss Alps. Originally constructed as a sports hall in 1988, it was renovated specifically for musical performance in 1998. The renovation focused on improving acoustics, transforming the space into a venue capable of hosting large orchestral performances and solo recitals. Its wooden construction and relatively intimate size – seating approximately 850 people – contribute to a warm and resonant sound experience.

The hall’s name derives from the nearby Combins mountain range. It has become central to the Verbier Festival’s identity, known for attracting world-class musicians and providing a unique setting for chamber music, orchestral concerts, and masterclasses within the festival’s broader programming.
