Jazz Concerts in Mitte
Experience Lyambiko live on December 12th
Lyambiko, a musical project spearheaded by Cameroonian artist Lyambiko Mbappé, presents a distinctive sound blending traditional Bantu rhythms and instrumentation with electronic music production. His work often incorporates field recordings from Central Africa, particularly sounds of the forest and daily life, layered with synthesizers, basslines, and vocal samples. The resulting style is frequently described as Afro-futuristic, experimental electronic music, or part of the global bass scene – though it resists easy categorization.
Konzerthaus Berlin, situated in the Mitte district of Berlin, Germany, is renowned for its exceptional acoustics and architectural significance. Originally constructed in 1821 as the Schauspielhaus under the direction of Karl Friedrich Schinkel, it underwent substantial rebuilding after damage during World War II. Reopened in 1984, it now primarily functions as a concert hall hosting classical music performances – orchestral concerts, chamber music recitals and opera – but also increasingly features performances spanning various genres. The Konzerthaus Berlin is home to the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and is considered a key cultural institution within the city. Its main hall is known for its horseshoe shape and intimate setting fostering close connection between performers and audience.
