Experience Lise Davidsen live on November 12th
Lise Davidsen is a Norwegian soprano gaining international recognition for her powerfully expressive voice and dramatic interpretations, primarily within the operatic repertoire. Her performances frequently focus on roles from Richard Strauss, Richard Wagner, and Puccini, showcasing a vocal quality described as both rich and agile, capable of both lyrical beauty and dramatic heft. She is noted for a commitment to historically informed performance practice alongside a distinctly individual artistry.
The concert will take place at Bâtiment des Forces Motrices (BFM) in Geneva, Switzerland. Originally constructed in 1901 as the city’s first hydroelectric power station, the building provided electricity to Geneva for nearly a century before ceasing power generation in 1985. Subsequently, it was repurposed as a cultural venue, undergoing significant renovations to accommodate performances.
BFM is now recognized as one of Geneva’s major concert halls, known for its industrial aesthetic – retaining much of its original machinery – and excellent acoustics. The space hosts a diverse range of events including concerts spanning classical, rock and electronic music, as well as theatrical productions and exhibitions. Its unique architectural character contributes significantly to the atmosphere of performances held within its walls.
